Nanette’s Baguette, the animated short film by Mo Willems, is the most recent to have Scotty’s musical score and is his 49th Scholastic film to compose for. This was especially fun for Scotty as he was able to bring some old friends to the studio: Tim Horsley on drums, Jason Mowery on violin, David Spicher on bass, and Hell Yeah Horns saxophonist, Jovan Quallo on clarinet. It was nice to be back in the studio with engineer Mike Esser at the helm; especially at his new studio, Mount Monkeymore!
It’s been a while since I posted to the website. Truthfully, it’s been a busy year. The Jake Owen tour was super fun, the schedule was quite full, and then there was Vegas. The Hell Yeah Horns were pretty busy outside of the Jake tour, recording and performing with artists like Ce Ce Winans, Smithfield, and Craig Wayne Boyd to name a few. One good thing that came out of the Vegas incident was meeting Raul Vallejo and Carlos Sosa from The Grooveline Horns! They are super dudes and a great horn section. We hope to do some work with them in the future. I’ve been busy with several film and audiobook projects for Scholastic as well. Unfortunately with everything that’s been going on, I haven’t progressed as far as I would have liked to with the Music Stuff Podcast. But that is definitely a priority going forward.
Hopefully I’ll do better with staying on top of the website in 2018. I hope you pop by from time to time to check on me. And don’t hesitate to reach out from the contact section if I’m slacking off! Happy holidays!
